In the previous articles we’ve mentioned all about the Las Piñas Arts and Crafts Center that showcases what the Las Piñeros’ capabilities to recycle and help the environment. However, did you know that the Las Piñas Arts and Crafts Center also features a Museum and a Showroom where you can view and learn about the history of Villar SIPAG and their facilities? We, at Sulyap coined the term Las Piñas Arts and Crafts Center Museum and Showroom, a part of the site that the public can visit from Monday to Saturday. It is open from 7:00AM to 5:00PM. Visitors to the site can see and learn how the Water Hyacinth Paper and products are made, as well as the decorative pieces on display. Visitors can also see how the baskets are made, as well as view some examples of the products that Villar SIPAG makes such as chairs made from trash, coconets, and coconut twine and rope.

The best part? It is a guided tour, interactive as you can make water hyacinth paper upon request, and it is all for free. Yes, you heard that right. For free! Visitors can walk right in and view all of these products, and experience how this environment friendly friendly facility works.

Here are some tips when going to the museum:

  1. Prepare a towelette or a handkerchief as it can get hot due to our tropical climate.

  2. Don’t forget your water to keep hydrated! There are some stores open nearby, but we suggest that you bring water instead as it you will need to walk to the store or take a tricycle.

  3. The facility is very clean. Please do not litter while at the facility. (or anywhere else in the Philippines!)

  4. Keep your valuables on your person. The facility is very safe, don’t fret! But as a general rule, we would advise all visitors to keep your valuables safe as there is no security guard on site.

  5. Thank your guide and the workers for accommodating you and showing you around! A smile and a simple thank you would certainly make their day.

Go and visit the center now, located in Carnival Park Street, BF Resort Village, Las Pinas City for a fun and educational trip!
